How we help our Community

The first thing a neighbor in need will hear is the voice of a caring, well equipped volunteer from one of our partner churches. A volunteer who will take the time to listen and care; who will inquire about the need presented, but also explore the broader context of their situation. Everything we do revolves around relationships because Love INC isn’t just about meeting urgent needs, it’s about meeting people where they are, and helping them achieve their God-given potential. 

Need will not change until we change how we address need.

Love INC believes in helping people to achieve their full potential in Christ instead of just sustaining them in their time of need. This approach, called Redemptive Compassion®, aims to transform the lives of both the giver and the receiver. It encourages us to be thoughtful about how we can help those in need in a way that empowers them.

These are crucial times in America, and the Church has a unique opportunity to take the lead in addressing the needs of our communities. God’s glory is revealed when we comprehend the purpose He has called us for and how we can be of service to those who are struggling.

 

What Is Redemptive Compassion?

Redemptive Compassion is a biblical perspective on how the church is called to holistically help people in need. Redemptive Compassion challenges many of the traditional ways of addressing need through the following core principles:

1. Everyone has VALUE … therefore,

2. We invest RELATIONALLY in others.

3. Everyone has CAPACITY and POTENTIAL.

4. Mutual PARTICIPATION is required.

5. We pray for WISDOM and DISCERNMENT.

6. We serve in ways that TRANSFORM.

Bridge of Hope

The Love INC Bridge of Hope takes many requests for help each year. These calls are answered by caring volunteers who listen to understand people’s situations and direct them to the most appropriate source of help. This can mean a referral to an area agency or services provided by area churches and volunteers through the Clearinghouse.

Gap Ministries

Love INC helps churches build ministries to fill the gaps in services by identifying unmet needs in the community. From baby cribs to financial management classes, we help churches organize services and products to meet real needs without duplicating existing resources. Yet, what is offered is much more than products and services, our relational approach ensures that each person is seen as an individual and offered prayer, encouragement, and ongoing connection.

Healthy Together

Healthy Together is how we rebuild our community. We have training called Healthy Helping for our Community partners and Healthy Habits for our clients. Each of these learning opportunities offer a way to elevate our community around the issue of poverty.

Mentorship

Love INC helps knows that it takes time to make life changes and that only comes when you trust the person who is helping you achieve your goals. Our Mentorship team is committed to the long journey with our clients.

Success is when an individual recognizes their need for others.

Each step that is taken with our clients we are introducing the need for others to come alongside them for help. These “others” include family, friends, co-workers and a healthy church that understands how to help those in need.

This gives God the opportunity to guide us towards the things He wants us to do, and we have never been let down.
